Get started

Zensical Studio reads your project's own configuration, so completion, validation, preview, and refactoring all agree with each other and with what you actually publish. See Better by design to learn more about how this beats traditional Markdown editor extensions.

This section gets you from zero to your first connected edit: create and open a project, make a small change, and watch it stay consistent everywhere else. Every workflow page later in this documentation uses the same downloadable zensical-example-project.zip, a small project with a few linked pages already in place, so it's worth downloading now if you don't already have a project ready to open.

  1. Install Zensical Studio.
  2. Open a project. Use your own, create a fresh one, or unpack the example project above.
  3. Follow the quickstart to make your first edits and see safe, connected editing across pages.
  4. Preview your changes.

The Write section covers the ways Zensical Studio helps day-to-day authoring work in more detail, and the authoring workflows show it applied to real, multi-page edits. If Zensical Studio isn't behaving as described, see troubleshooting.
