Billing¶

Studio and Spark purchases are processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar handles checkout, payment, applicable taxes, and invoices on our behalf.

Payment¶

Purchases are billed in US dollars. The checkout shows the payment methods available for your location. If your card or bank account uses another currency, your bank or card issuer may convert the charge and apply a foreign-exchange fee.

Your billing information is collected during checkout and used to process the purchase and issue the corresponding invoice or receipt.

Billing cycle¶

Monthly subscriptions renew each month and annual subscriptions renew each year from their initial billing date. Available billing intervals depend on the product or membership you choose:

• Studio pricing lists the available Studio editions and billing intervals.
• Spark pricing lists the available Spark memberships and billing intervals.

Sales-assisted purchases may have additional terms stated in the applicable order.

Taxes¶

Published prices exclude applicable tax. Polar calculates VAT, sales tax, or GST from the information provided during checkout and shows the final total before purchase.

Invoices¶

Polar generates an invoice or receipt for each payment and sends it to the billing email provided during checkout. Complete billing details, including an organization name, billing address, and tax ID where applicable, must be provided before the document is issued.

Payment failures¶

If a payment fails, Polar sends instructions for updating the payment method. Access may be suspended if an overdue payment is not resolved.

Refunds¶

Any refund or withdrawal rights shown during checkout are governed by the terms applicable to the purchase and applicable law. For help with payments or refund requests, contact members@zensical.org.

Cancellation¶

Self-service subscriptions can be cancelled through the Polar customer portal and remain active until the end of the paid billing period. Sign in with the email address used at checkout.

Sales-assisted orders may have additional cancellation terms.
