Zensical brings together the people behind Material for MkDocs and mkdocstrings – two projects that have shaped modern documentation across the Python ecosystem and beyond.
Together, we are building a new documentation stack from first principles in Rust, combining product design, systems engineering, and more than a decade of experience maintaining Open Source infrastructure at scale.
That experience guides how we build Zensical, support its users, and sustain it for the long term.
Martin Donath¶
Founder · Product and engineering
Martin created Material for MkDocs in 2015 and has led its design, engineering, and maintenance ever since. At Zensical, he sets product direction and leads the architecture behind Zensical, Studio, and ZRX.
His work combines two decades of software engineering with a focus on making complex systems feel clear and approachable.
Timothée Mazzucotelli¶
Core developer · Python tooling
Timothée created mkdocstrings, the widely used API documentation tool for MkDocs. At Zensical, he focuses on Python tooling, Markdown processing, compatibility, and dependable API-documentation workflows.
He brings more than a decade of professional and Open Source engineering experience to the project.
Katharina Linnenkugel¶
Community and customer relationships
Kathi leads communication, community operations, and customer relationships. She is the primary contact for organizations evaluating Zensical Spark and coordinates onboarding and ongoing support.
She connects members with the right people across Zensical, turning questions, feedback, and support needs into clear next steps.
