Branding essentials¶
Brand name¶
Zensical
Use the full names Zensical Studio and Zensical Spark when introducing those products. After the first mention, Studio and Spark are sufficient.
Tagline¶
Adaptive systems for evolving ideas
Short description¶
Zensical builds scalable Open Source tools for technical writing – from static sites to connected content systems.
About Zensical¶
Zensical is a free, Open Source static site generator for technical documentation, built by the team behind Material for MkDocs and mkdocstrings. It is designed for teams working with MkDocs and Python Markdown and is evolving into a modular build system for connected technical content.
Zensical's Open Source projects use the MIT license. Documentation stays in portable source files, and users can choose their own editor, publishing workflow, and hosting. Optional authoring tools and paid memberships help fund the team's continued Open Source work.
Products¶
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Zensical | The free, MIT-licensed static site generator and Open Source foundation. |
| Zensical Studio | An optional, closed-source authoring environment for Zensical and MkDocs projects, with a free edition and paid editions for project-wide automation and document governance. |
| Zensical Spark | Paid memberships for professional discussion and early access to new features. Organization memberships add direct support, with confidential collaboration and continuity planning in higher tiers. |
Studio and Spark are independent products. Neither is required to build, publish, or host a Zensical project. Their product pages explain editions, membership options, and availability.
For the people behind Zensical, see our team. For its Open Source and commercial model, see Sustainability.
Logo¶
The Zensical logo is inspired by the Aizawa attractor. Its connected curves reflect the idea behind our tagline: ideas can evolve into coherent systems while retaining their flexibility.
Logo files¶
The Logos/ folder in the press kit contains 18 logo variants, each supplied as a PNG and an SVG: horizontal, vertical, and symbol-only versions in the following variations.
| Folder | Variations |
|---|---|
Color/ | Regular and inverted color logos |
Grayscale/ | Regular and inverted grayscale logos |
Black-White/ | Black and white logos |
Choose the supplied variation that fits your layout and background. Use SVG for scalable graphics and PNG where vector files are not supported. For another format, contact hello@zensical.org and describe the intended use.
Clear space¶
The files include padding that defines the minimum clear space around the logo. Keep that padding intact and leave it free of text, images, and other elements.
Logo placement¶
- Preserve the logo's proportions when resizing it.
- Keep it clearly separated from surrounding content.
- Prefer a top-left or centered position.
Acceptable backgrounds¶
- Choose a background with enough contrast to keep the logo legible.
- Avoid busy patterns and images behind the logo.
- Use an inverted variation on dark backgrounds.
Usage guidelines¶
Use the supplied logos without alteration and follow the placement and background guidance above. The permissions and restrictions below apply to the Zensical logos and other trademarks.
Acceptable usage¶
You may use the supplied logos in the following contexts without asking for permission, provided you follow these guidelines. These permissions apply to both commercial and non-commercial uses.
